Growing Conditions

In 2019, exceptional winter rainfall gave us a full soil moisture profiles and
budburst occurred on par with long term averages with very solid early shoot growth. Mid December through to the early March was extremely dry with virtually no rainfall. The mild days and cool nights in late February and early March aided in the final ripen creating strong varietal characters and crisp natural acids.

Nose

Lifted dark cherries and blue fruits with undertones of stewed fruits, mulberry and satsuma plum balance a top charry French oak.

Palate

Medium to full palate weight, powerful flavours of spice, pepper and sumac. Structural powdery tannins provide a dry finish to compliment the dark fruits.

Appearance

Deep crimson red in colour

Food Pairing

Pair with good friends or family. Also goes fabulously well with anything that comes off a BBQ or a hearty stew.

Aging

34 mths in new & seasoned French Oak hogsheads.
