Claire Davies
Viticulturist
Claire Davies is a Roseworthy trained viticulturist and prior to purchasing their vineyard worked as a viticultural consultant to one of the most respected people within the global viticulture industry, Di Davidson. In this role Claire actually designed and oversaw the planting of Eight at the Gate's vineyards. Claire manages Eight at the Gate Vineyards as well as overseas production for some other producers in the region.
Peta Baverstock
Winemaker - Sparkling
Peta Baverstock has spent two decades focusing on the appreciation, making and branding of Sparkling Wine. Graduating in oenology in 2000 from Adelaide University, Baverstock quickly began to focus on sparkling wine. After a vintage at Le Crema in the Sonoma Valley, California, she worked at the Yarra Valley’s Domaine Chandon for two years. From 2003–10, she was on the sparkling wine team at BRL Hardy (now Accolade Wines) under Ed Carr – Australia’s most revered master of the sparkling arts.

Peter Douglas made a name for himself while working as a senior winemaker with Wynns Coonawarra Estate, a Penfolds label.
Jane Richards
Owner
After a successful corporate career working in the technology sector in Australia and ultimately the United States, Jane Richards and her 4 young children moved back to her home state of South Australia and life took a very different path. Together with her viticulturist sister, Claire, they now grow grapes for many iconic Australian wine brands as well as produce and market their own wine brand, Eight at the Gate Wines – named after the morning ritual of assembling their 8 children "at the gate" in time for the school bus. Jane handles all Global Sales and Marketing activities for Eight at the Gate Wines.
